Developed and published by Sierra On-Line in 1995, this point-and-click adventure game Space Quest 6 is the sixth and final installment in the renowned Space Quest series.

The Advent of Space Quest 6

Space Quest 6 marked a significant milestone as the first game in the series exclusively released on CD ROM. Infused with SVGA graphics, voice-overs, and a unique interface, the game maintained the humorous tradition of Space Quest while embracing a parody of popular sci-fi movies.

Unlike its predecessors, Space Quest 6 introduced a user-friendly feature allowing players to retry immediately upon Roger’s demise.

Plot

Roger’s Downfall and DeepShip 86

The game kicks off with Roger Wilco facing a court martial for a myriad of humorous charges. Unable to defend himself adequately, Roger is demoted to the position of a second-class janitor aboard the SCS DeepShip 86, a playful parody of Deep Space 9.

Despite the continuity error regarding the SCS Eureka’s safe return, Roger’s journey takes an unexpected turn.

Polysorbate LX and Project Immortality

Commander Kielbasa awards the crew shore leave on the planet Polysorbate LX, setting the stage for Roger’s further escapades.

Simultaneously, Sharpei, an old woman with sinister intentions, is revealed to be plotting Roger’s demise as part of “Project Immortality.” The plot thickens as the game unfolds.

Cyber Adventures and Stellar Santiago’s Digestive System

Roger encounters a T-1000-like “endodroid,” navigates through cyberspace, and explores Stellar Santiago’s digestive system.

The game’s humor is amplified by Gary Owens’ narrations, providing scientific details in a textbook-like manner. A quirky inventory item, a rotting fish, adds an amusing element to Roger’s challenges.

Roger and Stellar’s Relationship

Amidst the chaos, Roger develops a relationship with Stellar Santiago, introducing a potential love interest. A recurring gag involving a persistent rotting fish becomes a crucial element in the game’s resolution.

In a surprising twist, the fish becomes the key to defeating Sharpei, who transforms into a virus infecting Stellar Santiago.
